Director Biographies
Paul Sinnett, Acting Chairman
Paul was appointed to the Board of Cavanagh Group plc in September 2001. He is also the Group Finance Director of Lynx Group plc. Paul joined Lynx Group plc as Group Financial Controller having held a similar position in other UK quoted companies. Paul is a member of the Remuneration Committee and chairman of the Audit Committee. Paul was appointed as Acting Chairman of the Cavanagh Group plc in January 2008 replacing John Campbell.
Andrew Fay, Chief Executive
Andrew, together with two fellow Directors, found the Cavanagh Group as a partnership in 1996. Previously Andrew had been a senior Financial Adviser and Sales Manager at Royal Insurance where he had worked since 1989. In addition to his responsibilities as Chief Executive, Andrew continues to write business, has assumed the Compliance Oversight role within the Group and is the main instigator for progressing Cavanagh’s relationship with Providers at the highest level and has ownership of the key elements of the Groups’ strategy.
Simon Redgrove, Director
Simon was a senior financial advisers and sales manager at Royal Insurance where he worked since 1990. At Royal Insurance he was consistently one of the highest ranked producers; being jointly ranked 12th with Andrew Fay in 1995 and he received a number of awards and promotions in recognition. Simon is instrumental in successfully recruiting high calibre consultants for Cavanagh’s offices whilst still continuing to develop business opportunities. Simon has responsibility for the sales channel for the group and has direct responsibility for Cavanagh’s flagship London office and regional sales responsibility for the South. He has developed a track record for continually elevating advisers to new levels.
Ian Henson, Finance Director & Company Secretary
Ian was appointed Finance Director of the Cavanagh Group plc in April 2005. Ian (BSc, ACA) has extensive experience in financial, operational and corporate governance issues. During 2002-2005, Ian was the Chief Financial Officer of the Iocore Group which operated from locations in Scandinavia, mainland Europe, Australia and South Africa. Between 2000 and 2002 Ian was a management consultant, working mainly with IT companies, both publicly quoted and private companies. Between 1997 and 1999 Ian worked as the Finance Director for Kalamazoo Motor Trade plc and then became Head of Finance for Kalamazoo International plc. Ian’s current responsibilities also include oversight of Operations and Human Resources
Paul Hogarth, Non Executive Director
Paul joined Cavanagh board as Non Executive Director in November 2006. He is now Senior Partner for Paradigm Partners LLP, a support services provider set up by Paul in April 2007. Previously, Paul was founder and joint chief executive of Bankhall Investment Associates for 18 years. Following this he then worked on a consultancy basis for the Bankhall group of companies prior to setting up Paradigm. Paul is a member of the Audit Committee and chairman of the Remuneration Committee
Kenneth Timmins, Director
Ken has been in the life and pensions business since 1965 and during that time has worked for providers and IFA’s. Over the years he has been regional Pensions Superintendent with Standard Life, regional Pensions Manager (Scotland & NI) for Scottish Amicable and a director with Bain Dawes, Alan Steel Asset Management, Chief Executive of EYFM and is now a Director of the Cavanagh Group plc. Ken maintains a very substantial client bank and continues to help develop the Ernst & Young relationship for the group. Ken currently has the Apportionment & Oversight responsibility.
Charles Gillespie, Director
Charles has 16 years employee benefit advisory experience, including 11 years with EYFM prior to the sale to Cavanagh Group plc. While with EYFM, Charles held local, regional and national sales and marketing roles and at the time of the sale was National Sales and Marketing Director and Deputy Chief Executive. While the majority of his time is spent in sales management, Charles still enjoys developing both existing and new clients and is always keen to apply the Group’s new product initiatives first hand. Charles has direct sales responsibility for the Northern region and assists Simon on a national basis with sales development for the Group.
